English Language and Literature, Minor
Requirements - Minor
An English Language and Literature minor consists of at least 15 semester credit hours of English Language and Literature courses with a grade of “C” or better, including:

LITR 2298 Advanced Academic and Nonfiction Writing, LITR 2299 Methods of Literary Analysis, and LITR 4399 Senior Seminar must be taken at Benedictine University.
Of the 15 semester credit hours, at least 12 semester credit hours must be at the 2000 level or higher, including at least 6 at the 3000 level or higher. No more than 3 semester credit hours may be taken at the 1000 level. Successful completion of, or concurrent enrollment in, LITR 2298 Advanced Academic and Nonfiction Writing or LITR 2299 Methods of Literary Analysis is required for enrollment in most 3000 and 4000 level courses.
Completion of the English Language and Literature minor satisfies the QLR (Literary/Rhetorical) requirement of the University General Education Curriculum. However, students are strongly encouraged to take a QLR-designated course as part of their coursework for the minor.
