Requirements - Minor
Students seeking a minor in Biology must complete, with a grade of “C” or better in:

|CHEM 1124||General Chemistry II Laboratory||1|
|BIOL 1195||Principles of Organismal Lab 1||1|
|BIOL 1197||Principles of Organismal Biology 1||3|
|BIOL 1198||Principles of Biology 1||3|
|BIOL 1199||Principles of Biology Lab 1||1|
|Select at least nine semester credit hours of Biology at the 2000 level or above, including at least six semester credit hours at the 3000 level or above||9|
Transfer students who earn transfer credit for BIOL 1195 Principles of Organismal Lab, BIOL 1197 Principles of Organismal Biology, BIOL 1198 Principles of Biology, and BIOL 1199 Principles of Biology Lab are required to take BIOL 2299 Quantitative Biology Laboratory for Transfer Students. BIOL 2299 Quantitative Biology Laboratory for Transfer Students will count as a 2000-level credit in the major.
All chemistry courses (8 semester credit hours) and all biology courses (17 semester credit hours) must be passed with a grade of “C” or better.
A minor in Biology is available only to students whose major is outside the Department of Biological Sciences. However, Medical Humanities majors cannot minor in Biology.
